96 780 Carb issues

I recently installed a new SBT engine in my Polaris. ( I got the ski cheap cause it needed an engine) anyway since the ski hadn't been run in a couple years I put in a carb kit. when I got it all back together it seemed to run ok on the hose in the yard. I let it sit a couple days while working on another ski. Now I have to keep pulling on the choke to make it run and it's running 5k-6k rpm with the throttle butterflies closed. I know the guy had tinkered on it before realizing the motor was shot. I looked (probably in the wrong place) but I couldn't find the default seeting for the mixture screws. Also anyone have any other suggestions of things to look for?

Tech articles, stock carb settings. Set idle to 3k out of the water.
