´96 rider 1100 top end gasket questions

HI All! I need to regasket the top end part of the motor (the mechanic didpnt use new ones when he did the top end rebuild) and I was wondering. Is there any part of the motor that I have to use a sealant with the gaskets or just the gaskets and nothing else?
