  • flywheel assembly

I am reassembling my engine and I'm not sure how far the flywheel should go on the crankshaft. Should the flywheel go far enough for the reduction gear to be engaged or does the reduction gear slide out to engage the flywheel? I lubed the end of the crankshaft lightly as instructed by the manual, but the flywheel is going on with much difficulty.

flywheel should be inserted to the torque specified in the manual. I beleive it is 65 lbs or torque, and the gear will come into contact with it once the starter is engaged.

Make sure you install the woodruff key to align the flywheel.
