    Default carb cleaning

I am pulling my xl 700 out of the water this weekend for the summer. I am going to have it winterized, but the carbs need to be cleaned. Should I have them cleaned while it is being winterized or should I wait till the spring?

If by 'cleaned' you mean using rebuild kits and properly rebuilding them, it doesn't matter. The only thing I would wait for is replacing the needle and seats - during long term storage they can develop grooves and leak, often when coming out of storage.
