  • Cant get the PTO and flywheel off

I am having a hard time getting the PTO and flywheel off my 787. Aside from buying the tools I need is there anyway to get these off. I want to do a sbt swap but wont be able to do it unless I get these off. I called the dealer and they want more than $150 for the tools I need. Any suggestions?

100 bucks for what tool ? somone is robbing you lol .

use heat and a good pipe wrench it will come off ir ask the dealer what they would charge to remove it for you . should only take 5 min .

you just need a really long cheater on that pipe wrench, make sure you haev a nice bite on teh pto and it will not slip. i use an impeller tool that i bought for 15 dollars at my dealer. works like a charm.

as far as teh flywheel. i have always used heat. first get your flywheel puller on, make itnice and tight and it probably will not pop off because of all teh sealers on it. but make sure it's under a lot of pressure, just make sure youdont strip the puller bolts.

Once you have suffiecient pressure, you will need to heat teh mating surfaces of the crankshaft and the flywheel. This is the method i have always used and it worked well. just dont apply TOO much heat as the torch does heat metal up faster than u expect it to.

after appling enough heat, u will see it pop out on it's own, but give it a few taps here and there while heating it up.
