I bought a 2001 gp800r, and have just recently been reading about the power valve issue with these skis. I read the Yamaha service bulletin that someone posted on one of their earlier replies, and I thought it read like the 2001 gp800r had the updated power valve with the beefed up stops to prevent the valve from going too far. Is this correct? Or should I be looking to upgrade the power valve before it fails?
The engine has 99 hours on it. Should I be in a hurry to do the upgrade, if needed, or does the failure usually occurr with more run time?
Thanks
