  • Low oil warning light no longer required.

I have now blocked off the oil pumps on both of my skis ('98 GP1200 and '98 1100 STX) and am running them on a 50:1 mix. I thought I remembered Tech Support writing somewhere that I could stop the warning light for low oil by cutting the two wires that run from the gauges to the oil tank sending unit and tieing them together with a wire nut. I've searched but can't find the info again.

    Two questions:

    1. Is that all I need to do?

    2. Will the same procedure work on both the Yamaha and the Kawasaki?

    Thanks again all.
