  • 96 XP Gauge Access

Looking for a procedure for getting access to the gauges? Need to replace a VTS gauge.

Unbolt the hood into two pieces or does the little plast cover at the very top pop off somehow?

You should have an access cover on the bottom of the hood. Something like 8-10 little bolts or screws.

You'll need to have a 5.5mm deep socket.

The deep socket for the 5.5 mm bolts in the actual hood? Do I need to separate the hood in two or will that access panel under the hood be sufficient to get at the gauge?

That panel looks to have 5.5mm bolts but they are not recessed in the molding like the 5.5 bolts are comprising the hood.

I'll try the access panel tomorrow, just being lazy for now and asking the question.
