    Re: lean out

Follow the carb settings for a 650 in the tech section. If you want you can set it 1/4 turn out further than the spect to be safe the adjust them back in after you are sure it is not running lean by doing plug checks.

        Re: lean out

the first motor was run with no oil in the tank and seazed up. that was before i got it, the new motor was never put in, i bought it that way and removed the old and installed the new.
        thanks

                Re: lean out

More than likely the stock settings in the post referenced by John will be good enough, but if you feel up to it and want to be sure they're right, this tech post tells you how to tune the carb:

                http://www.sbtontheweb.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13963

When you're tuning the carb based on plug color as the post describes, make sure you do a proper "plug chop", that is holding the throttle in the open position while you kill the engine. For instance, if you are checking the color for WOT (wide open throttle), kill the engine with the kill switch or by yanking the lanyard out while you are still holding the throttle wide open.
