  • TO USE OIL PUMP OR PRE MIX GAS?

    I AM INSTALLING TO NEW 1100 SBT MOTORS IN MY WAVE RAIDERS AND WONDERING IF I SHOULD GET RID OF THE OIL PUMP AND USE PRE MIX INSTEAD IF I USE PRE MIX DO I HAVE TO DO ANYTHING WITH THE CARBS.

    Nothing special, no. On that ski the only difference is the hassle of pre-mix.

      The best thing about premix is that you dont have to worry about what gas/oil mix your boat is getting, and its one less thing to go wrong and fry a motor. No cables/rods/check valves/hoses/oil pumps to fail>>>

      The biggest problem with running premix is, YOU need to be the one fillin the tank to make sure the right stuff is going in!!

      Running premix does lean out the fuel supply a little bit, since what is going through your carb jets is now fuel and oil, Which means less fuel. (Less than an 1/8 of a turn on the screws)

      However, if the boat is stock, its probably a little on the rich side anyways....so dont sweat it.
