I believe I've read here in the forum that many of the seized/broken engines are caused by carburetor "problems", causing lean fuel delivery at WOT resulting in burning pistons etc..
seems to be often caused by clogged/dirty internal fuel filters or other fuel restictions INSIDE the carb.
question #1
am i off base with this statement?
if not off base
question #2
Is there a good rule of thumb as to how many hours/seasons between carb rebuilds. seems like very little warning (poor start, rough idle, hesitation at WOT) before carb starves the motor and it gets expensive. or AM I MISSING ANOTHER SYMPTOM??
thanks in Baton rouge
