  • Kawasaki 900 Stx Oil Pump????

Hi,I have question about Kawasaki jet ski 900 STX 97 year.I bought it with motor which was blowen up (damage:middle connecting rod was broken and there was a hole in the case). I do not know what caused the damage. I bought another short block which I am going to install bat I have a question regarding to it. If I remove oil pump from the engine would it be O.K. if I mix fuel and oil 50:1 or 40:1 as required and use it all together at once? Would the function still be the same? What would be lubricating the bearings in this case? Do I need to make any other changes to carburetor or is the removing of oil pump the only thing I have to do? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP!!!!!

Yes you can block off the oil pump and go pre-mix. The ratio is 50:1. The crank is lubricated byt he pre-mix exactly as with the oil pump - the engine doesn't know or care where the oil comes from. No carb changes are needed.
