  • 96 Yamaha Wave Raider Hard to Start

    Hello,

Last year I bought a 96 Wave Raider 760 with 40 hrs on it. This has been a fun to ride ski but when the engine is cold it is extremely hard to get started. When the engine is warm it fires easily. Once started it runs strong. I have worn down the battery at times and I am afraid of what I may be doing to the starter. I replaced the battery and plugs. Am I missing something that may be easy to try before I need to have it professionally serviced? Thanks in advance for any help.

Get a primer kit it will make your ski fire up the first time even when cold.

Thanks for your reply. Can you tell me if a primer kit is avalable online and is it difficult to install?
