Oil Pump and oil cable question

Just purchased the oil pump block off for 1990 587. My question is, when i disconnect the pump cable, the throttle spring does not have enough power to pull the throttle and oil cable back into place without the oil pump spring pulling the oil cable back as well. What should i do? Do i need to get a new throttle cable without the extra cable that used to go to the oil pump? Thanks.
