  • Carb settings

I have a new 787 SBT engine. In your tech articles you say that a 97 SPX should have the high carb setting at 1/4 on PTO carb and 0 on MAG carb. My question is....I also have a 96 XP with a 787 engine and your tech article says the high carb setting should be 0 on both PTO and MAG. So if they are the same engine why the difference?

    Re: Carb settings

All settings are +/1 1/4 turn, and some book specs change year to year. Start either way, and make changes based on your needs.

      Re: Carb settings

So I should start with the LOW and HIGH screws on both the PTO and MAG carb at 1 1/4 out and then based on reading the spark plugs and performance, adjust from that point?

No, highs are 0 to 1/4 turn out.
