787 Oil Pump adjustment?
On a 96 XP 800 after removing the carbs. for cleaning what is the proper adjustment for the oil pump cable? should the oil pump end be at the "idle" position while the carbs are at idle? ( if so the oil regulator is not fully open at full throttle.) or if I adjust it so the oil regulator is fully opened at full throttle then it is about 1/4 open at idle. I am concerned it may get too much oil on idle one way or not enough oil durring high revs the other way (both of wich would not be good). Sorry its not the most clear explanation of the issue, but any help is appreciated.
