I own a 1997 challenger 1800. Two days ago I was returning to the boat ramp after a normal day on the water when I heard a strange metalic noise comming from the engine compartment and the left engine began to rev higher. The left engine would rev up and the metalic banging sound would get louder. I immediatley shut off the left engine. Upon inspection I discovered that I the left impeller and shaft will spin freely in either direction. I have a bad feeling that something could be broken between the engine and the shaft that goes to the inmeller. I am somewhat new to jet boating and any help with this porblem or soultion woud be appreciated.
