I am purchasing a new engine tommorow from sbt. Someone please tell me or reasure me that this story is what happened to my.I bought the ski it had been sunk it would not crank properly due to a busted reed on #3. I replaced the reed and it cranked fine but weak on power. I then cleaned the carbs replaced all reeds with boysen reeds. Then the ski cranked fine and sounded fine on the hose.I went to the lake and it ran about five minutes. It burnt all of #3 piston cylinder rod and crank. When I took the air breather off to start tear down I found the two allen screws that go through the air box and then the carb were loose barely started.I had got in a hurry and left them loose. All 3 plugs were real light tan and dry. Is this what happened did it lean out because fo the loose bolts. I will be ordering my new engine tommorow so please help me. Dumb me.

We can' tell you for ure what happened, but a lose bolt there would certainly do it.
