This ski had a 40-206 motor installed in 2001. I just purchased.

The oil injection system is still installed. I read in the STB manual about blocking off this system. Can I buy the block off plate somewhere? Can I leave the pump installed and block off the feeder hose?

What compression should this motor have? Do I check by removing both plugs and crank?

I have an oil leak coming from the bottom left of the motor. It appears to be coming from the control reed valve assy. Is this common, can I reseal with the motor installed?

    Thanks

Here is the oil block off kit: http://www.sbtontheweb.com/Merchant2...tegory_Code=36

No you can not leave the pump in place, it will be destroyed if left to run dry.

I highly recommend you get a case dump block off kit from a dealer or elsewhere, it's a prime spot for an air leak. I would not run it again until you do if I were you.

You should have about 140 psi, here are instructions for compression testing: http://server1.sbtontheweb.com/forum...ad.php?t=16019

        I did, it's called a case dump.

It was designed to let you empty the case of water if you flooded the engine. What it actually ends up doing is leaking and burning up your engine.
