  • 750SS Jamming impeller

I have just purchase a 750SS that made a loud clanking noise when I tried to start it. It was only turning half a revolution and sticking. I took off the drive unit and discovered that the impellor is striking the housing and jamming. It can be forced past the bind with great effort, but seems to indicate that the housing is out of round. I moves freely when turned 1/2 turn, then jams again.

There is no sign of damage to the pump, and I can't see what might have bent the housing. Will I need to replace the housing, the sleeve, or the impellor?

    Thanks for your help!

You need to replace whatever parts are damaged. Usally housings are pushed out by corrosion due to lack of care.
