  • Cooling System and RPM Question

I just installed a SBT core (1994 Yamaha Pro-Vxr). When I took the jet-ski out to do break-in I noticed that the clear hose that connects from the cylinder head to the bottom of exhaust (rear) does not have any water flowing through it.
Prior to engine installation I checked this on the exhaust (blew air through hose). So I know it is not clogged.
Should there be a full flow of water through this hole? And does the water come from the cylinder head (outlet) to the exhaust or is flow the other direction?

I know some water is circulating in exhaust system because I have a small leak at one of the screws in the front of the exhaust system.

Re: Cooling System and RPM Question

The core is the old dead engine, you installed a new one.

There should be water throught here after several seconds, and it should increase flow with the throttle. All diagrams can be found at www.hlsm.com
