  • Plastic in Ultra 150 cylinder

I was fogging the engine of a 2000 Kawasaki Ultra 150 and didn't notice the red plastic "straw" on the fogger fell into the cylinder. When I turned over the motor I saw it pop out of the cylinder and then back in. I pulled off the cylinder head to look for it but all I found was a tiny chunk of the "straw".

Any ideas where the rest could have gone? Do I need to find it? Or to put it differently what kind of damage can it do?

    Sigh...

Unfortunately, yes you need to disassemble to find it. It's either in the exhaust, or down in the case. If it gets jammed in the case it could possibly seize a bearing, or it may cause a score to a ring, or it may pass harmlessly out. It's up to you if you want to chance it or not. If it were mine I would be sure, it's over $2k to replace the engine, less than $100 to replace gaskets.
