  • Weak spark 650sx

I have an 87 650sx, was running great then it died. Good fuel, good compression, very weak spark. It is sparking on both plugs but very very weak. Wont start. Pulled the front cover, there was some water and rust in there. Cleaned it all out, including the coils and mag, and resealed the cover. Black/red is 214 ohms and black/yellow is 214 ohms. New plugs. Cranks over super fast so no sluggish battery or starter. What would cause the spark to go almost non-existant in an instant? Thanks in advance

Water on your stator will certainly do that. It's possible the stator needs to be replaced. Ohm testing doesn't tell you if it will work or not, it only tests for some obvious problems.
