Kawasaki zxi 900 Damper Assembly

I just dissassembled my 96 ZXI 900 in preperation of ordering a SBT replacement motor. After removing the flywheel cover I noticed that the bearing/seal that is pressed in the middle of the flywheel cover is shot. I have purchased your blockoff kit because I planned on going premix. An OEM replacment bearing is over $100. My question is: Because I am doing the blockoff conversion, do I even need this bearing?
