Hi! In late 2006 I bought this 2000 Zodiac projet 350 with a Yamaha J700G engine. I bought this Jet from one of those mega-yachts-which I assumed would be in perfect working order, just the opposite! Anyway here is a small summary of the events:
1. new carbs and tuned. (B/4 purchase)
2. new starter installed. (B/4 purchase)
3. new alternator base assy installed. (coil charge,pulser&lighting)
4. mini tach installed.
5. mini volt meter installed.
6. flush out attachment installed.
7. new battery installed. (B/4 purchase)
8. Deleted oil injection system. Went to 50/1 mix.
* On 11/06 I ran a compression check, 140 and 130.
* Jan of 2007, on test run, over 4000 rpm a miss started to develop and continued thru full throttle range. Water so rough I could not pull the choke to see if it was a fuel problem.
* Had water in inner hull. approx. 6". Found the problem. 2 -1" thru hull fittings with a broken "T".
* 2/9/07 Ran engine at house, Starting engine 1st, then H2O. engine ran for 8 minutes b/4 losing power. I did try the choke, for the miss - did not help.
What happened?
I am going to buy new core from SBT but I need to know what caused this problem! What did I overlook....
