Priming fuel lines

I'am getting ready to fire up my new SBT engine installed over the winter and noticed on a post that I may need to prime my fuel lines. Can you give me a little insight on how this is done?

99 1200xlt, with blocked off oil pump going premix

Take the return line off the carbs and blow into it withthe fuel valve on. When you see premix come out the carb fitting put the line back on.
