1100 stx di groupk stage 2 problem

I just finished installing a GroupK stage 2 kit on my 2002 1100 STX DI and I'm having a problem. Everything with the install went fine, but when I start the ski the idle is high (3000rpms). It runs for a few seconds (maybe 10-20) and then it wants to surge up to somewhere around 6000rpms. I'm not sure what it is going to do so I shut it off when it surges. I've contacted GroupK and they said they haven't had that kind of problem. Can anyone give me an idea of what I should try? I've only had it hooked up to the hose at the house. Would putting it in the water to get a load on the engine help?

Got it figured out today. After a long day putting the motor back together, I had a brain lapse. It seems that when I was rebuilding the throttle body I put the butterflies in upside down creating an air leak.
