  • GP1200R Throttle sticking....Help!

    Hello Guys,
    Im new to this site...and i must say firstly i think its a fantastic facility!
    The throttle is sticking on my 2002 Yamaha GP1200R...was wondering has anybody else come across this problem or have any suggestions?

    Could be your cable,or the throttle plate rods in the carbs.

    In salt water,it could be either....try disconnecting the cable at the carbs,and seeing which end is sticking.

      Disconnected the cable from the carbs,cable seems fine so not cable....Must be something to do with carbs....any recommendations??

      p.s. I dont use the ski in saltwater (may have some relevance)

        See if your local dealer has a throttle shaft rebuild kit - if not you will need to clean them yourself. Search www.pwctoday.com for details.

          well lads,

          problem solved, took the trottle shafts out and sanded the plastic bushes until the shafts moved freely again......
