I have a wave venture 1100 with a SBT rebuilt engine. The original motor was toasted due to a broken oil line a few years ago. It has a total of 130 hours and only about 60 hrs on the current motor. The problem started with a bad bog condition when first taking off. Once it got going it was fine. I brought it to an indipendent PWC mechanic who did some carb work and it was fine when we tried it out. Whith the seat off in the water smoke would come out like it was on fire. I brought it back to him and he says that the rear seals have blown completely out of the block. Any ideas what has caused this condition. The ski is not used much. Maybe 6-8 times a year. I don't want to spend a ton of money on an older ski if it may happen again.
Any help would be appreciated.
