  • damaged piston head and sticky crank

Last year I had a leaky front bearing seal on my 93 xp. After replacement, rode for about a few minutes and died.
pulled from water and noticed the crank was hard to turn.

I just pulled the head cover and noticed that one of my piston heads is damaged from something, (cracked and beaded) and when I turn the crank by hand, the crank is sticky through 20% of rotation.

I pulled the crankcase cover off, but all looks good down there.

Attached are some pics I took of the piston, interesting, is the piston wall is not damaged or scored.

    Anybody got some thoughts.
