  • Crankshaft scrapped or still eligible as core return for a rebuilt one?

After significant effort, I have finally managed to remove the PTO off the crankshaft of my 95' xp (717cc). I ended up having to remove the crankshaft from the case and secure it in a large vise on the short parallels of the lobes while using a 6 foot chain wrench on the PTO! I started out with the right tools and they all broke even after heating the PTO. (I even sheared a PTO removal tool) I contribute the "ultra torqued" PTO to the fact that I had been running a filament wound carbon fiber driveshaft for about 2 years. Due to its stiffness, it acted as an impact wrench tightening the PTO with every rev to some extent. Needless to say, I now have a crankshaft with a slightly upset woodruff keyway that I am wondering if it will render my crankshaft unworthy as a core return. How about slight vise teeth marks on the lobes?
