  • 2003 1100zxi Possible Cooling Problem

    Greetings,

I just purchased a used 2003 1100zxi. I have been giving a good check-over before taking it to the lake for the first time. What I have noticed is that, when connected to the garden hose at idle, front cylinder runs so hot that it would easily burn you. The middle and rear don't go much above ambient temperature. I know this was an issue with earlier models, but on the 2003 I was not aware of any cooling issues.

    Any suggestions appreciated.

    Thank you!

You aren't supposed to be able to touch an engine. That's normal on the hose.

      Glad to hear that.

I am especially worried because some sand came out the first time I flushed the ski. It came from the rear, hopefully from in the pump.

Is there any way to backflush the cooling jackets of the engine in case there is anything lodged in there?

I have a few more questions about this ski, I will make seperate posts of them.

      Thank you for your help.

The flush adaptor is for backflushing, just as you are doing.
