Polaris SLT 700 removal of oil sensor in oil resevoir

I have removed the oil pump and will be manually mixing oil and gas. The oil resevoir that will not be needed has a sensor in it. What is the best procedure: Cut the wires or connect them together. The wiring diagram shows that one wire of the sensor is grounded. The other connects to the temp sensor and Warning buzzer.

Splice them with a 35Ohm resistor to show a full tank.
