  • RXP '05 Driveshaft Removal

I'm trying to remove the engine and am stuck at removing the driveshaft.

Do you need all three special tools to push the floating ring back to get to the c-clip?
The manual calls for a PTO seal support, driveshaft holder, and floating ring expander.
To me it looks like I just need the floating ring tool unless you really do need to perform the step of pushing the PTO seal forward as well.

Also, the site instructions for engine removal/installation are working fine. But step 2.6 says just "slide the driveshaft back". According the manual it's takes a lot more work than that...unless I'm just missing something basic here.

Thanks in advance for the help.

On our test ski it slid back with a couple good tugs. You can simply tap the collar back with a socket extension as a punch.
