  • *&$(&^(#)@_ Oil pump

I appreciate any help on this one.

I've been fighting the reinstall of a 951 into a 98 GTX for a few days. I keep making little mistakes that end up causing me to redo it !!! Inexperience, I know.

But the BLASTED oil pump has been the culprit lately. First, I got the whole motor in and everything but forgot to hook up the oil pump. Finally got the cable on but found that the return spring had fallen off. ****. Pulled the motor out again, fixed the spring, put er back in.

NOW the problem is that for some reason maybe I have the pump quadrant wound up too tight? If the oil pump is hooked to the throttle cable, the throttle only opens halfway. THe oil pump quadrant won't go any further.

SO, did I wind it up too tight? Can I disconnect the spring, unwind it one rev, then hook up the spring? Is that what I did wrong (this time)?

    Thanks all for any help.

Throw that stupid oil pump away! Use a RIVA block of kit and have peace of mind! :emoticont
