  • 2000 947 engine - GTX

    hi, i'm working on a gtx from 2000 with a 947 engine.
i changed the lower cylinder sealing, because a 2 inch piece was missing on the outside of cyl. 1.
after i mounted a new sealing the engine doesn't start.

the spark plugs are new and they spark.
i do get fuel, because the spark plugs are always wet and u can see clouds of mixture escape when u turn the engine with no spark plugs mounted.

how do i know the sparking time is off.
we don't own a mpem programmer programmer, to adjust the ignition timing.
(i didn't thoughed any wires in the box where the ignition coils are, the box is very clean and no corrosion at all)

on other machines i have worked on, had a Trigger Coil above the Generating coil.
the 947 engine, doesn't seam to have a trigger coil.
because there are only 4 wires, 3 yellow and 1 black. and those are from the Generating coils.
where does the 947 get his timing from?

i thorqued the cylinder bolts with 60n and tighten them over crossed.
    what is the correct thorque?

i have printed the mikuni watercraft carburator owner manual.
(my colege, played with the upper carburator screws)
low speed or high speed adjuster?

it flooded the cylinders and even with the use of ignitor fluids, the engine doesn't start, apart from a few explosion there is no life.

the pistons and everything else got mounted correctly.
and the engine did run before the sealing change.

the machine did his winter sleep.
the battery got removed to charge, before i started working on it.

    kind regards
Working...
