My lid came off my SXR 800 while I was riding with a full tank of gas. Engine compartment, carbs and intake filled with water. I was impressed that the whole thing didn't sink in the middle of the Columbia River. Only about three inches of the rear exposed while we towed it to shore...(barely ). I emptied all the water, shot the water through the spark plug holes while holding the start button, got it restarted and ran it for the rest of the day like normal. Can water get below the intake or exhaust and cause damage to the crank or anything later? Is there anything else I should do?
