  • Crank side Rod Bearings

I have read a lot of the threads where folks are asking about rebuilding their crank and I agree that the best course of action is to buy a rebuilt crank from SBT in most cases.

However, I have a few questions I have not been able to find the answers to and hoping you will help me out.

I have a 94 XP that has a bad rod bearing on the crank side. all other bearings seem to be in good shape.

    1. Is it possible to replace the rod bearing without disassembling the crank?
    2. if it's possible, where can I get the bearing, I have been unable to find it.

I appreciate your patience with a novice in the PWC world and will appreciate any relavant information.

It is possible to do of course, but takes a crank rebuilder to do it. The dealer may sell the bearing separately.

well I have a 94 GTX and a 94 xp. Looks like I am going to have the motor from the xp fixed first but want to get riding on the GTX.

Any issues with switching the motors?
