  • 1999 polaris 1050 slx...clear plastic hose

My son just bought this slx, and I was checking the engine compartment and seen a yellow clear plastic hose coming out of the rear and the other end of the hose which is inside laying on the bottom not connected to anything with a screen connected to it, I was wondering if this supposed to connect to anything or just lay there. And what is this hose? Thanks if you can help

Its too big to be a battery vent tube...its at least a 3/8 hose

I think its the siphon hose - there should be a strainer on the end in the bilge, then it goes up to a plastic right angle and then on to a connection to the jet pump.

The idea being that the suction of the jet pump can siphon out any stray water that collects in the bottom of the bilge.

        Hope this helps

I just wanted to thank you about the syphon tube suggestion, it routes exactly the way you said it did. I was thinking that it might be some sort of syphon but I know little about jetski's.

Andy maybe you can help me with this one. Also the bilge pump stays on all the time even when the engine's not started. The only way to shut it down is to disconnect the wires.
