97 xp counter shaft oil drain plug?

  • 97 xp counter shaft oil drain plug?

    anyone know were the counter shaft oil drain plug is? manuel says oil should be changed every 50 hours with 30 wt oil i found the fill plug even though its hard to get to. it says its by the pto on the bottom i stuck my skinny arm under the eng all i feel is a bunch of bolts :emoticonl

    #1 there is no drain plug.
    #2 you don't change the oil - there is nothing to change. The oil is not in a sealed cavity, it was used after the first startup. Not sure what you are reading...

      Section 01 MAINTENANCE ( this what the manuel says :emoticonl )im confused



      SPX, GSX, GTX and XP Models
      On the 787 engine, remove the drain plug of the
      counterbalance shaft located on the PTO side of
      the lower crankcase.
      Drain completely the crankcase oil of the counterbalance
      shaft. Reinstall drain plug.
      Remove the filling plug located on the upper
      crankcase.
      Add 30 mL (1 oz) of SAE 30 motor oil.
      Reinstall filling plug.
      All Models
      Turn fuel valve to ON position.
      Start engine; It may be necessary to use the
      choke. If engine does not start, repeat previous
      steps as necessary.
      NOTE:
      If engine does not start after several attempts,

      check ignition system for spark occurrence.
      Refer to ELECTRICAL SYSTEM 07-02.
      Check crankshaft if needed, it may be misaligned
      or deflected. Refer to ENGINE 03-06.
      After engine has started, spray BOMBARDIER
      LUBE lubricant through air intake silencer while
      engine is running.
      1. Spray Bombardier Lube
      Run engine until it reaches its normal operating
      temperature.
      -
      CAUTION

      To avoid starting motor overheating, the
      cranking period should not exceed 5-10 seconds
      and a rest period of 30 seconds should
      be observed between cranking cycles.
      -
      CAUTION

      Engine must be cooled using the flush kit.

        Maybe that was part of an old manual, not sure. Regarless, no need for it whatsover, you are fine.

          yah i think its a bunch of caka myself i searched for hours with my hands and cant find nothing .i know i did add oil once it was hard to fill and all it did was when i started it it smoked prety heavy for a while. well thanks for the info just wanted to know if anyone else changes there oil lol if so tell me about it:emoticonw
