  • piston pin trouble

I have just purchased a 95 speedster that had engine damage and set outside for a couple of years. I have removed one of the engines and found that the piston and chipped and caused damage to the piston and head. I am having troulble getting the piston pins and the c rings out. Does anyone have any tricks or ideas. Any help and advise would be great as I am new to the jetski/boat market.

    Thanks Barnzyjr

    Re: piston pin trouble

There should be a little indentation on the piston wall where you can get a small pick under the clip and pop it out. It's a bit of a pain. Don't be gentle, as you can't re-use the clips anyhow.

      Re: piston pin trouble

thanks for the help. I could not get the pins out due to the fact that the pins were seized in the piston. I ended up using a dremel to cut the c clips and a hammer and extension for some gentile persuasion.
