I am working on a buddys ski to diagnose an overheat and found everything crammed with corrosion from lack of flushing after saltwater use. So needless to say I am double checking everything to determine whether the parts left are still in good condition. I have pulled the muffler out to check it. My question is this...this first muffler (large one on port side of ski) has three water lines that run to it where the manifold hooks up. Two lines are on top and one line on the bottom. When two of the lines are caped and air pressure is applied to the third, air leaks into the actual exhaust cavity. Now I know the cavity that i am pressurizing with air is normally filled with water but is the leaking between the two cavities normal or is the exhaust and water supposed to stay separate. Just want to make sure that the salt water sitting in the muffler didn't corrode a hole where it is not supposed to be. Thanks for your help in advance.
Working...
