  • 2003 gtxdi compressor problems

    Has anyone ever heard of the water jackets around the comp.dev a crack alowing water to go into the comp in turn injecting it into the fuel system causing ski not to run at full rpm .Eventually locking the moter up.

    I have heard of water getting into the compressor, thus cauing the compressor to throw a rod and causing some major issues. I don't think there would be enough water coming through the compressor to lock up the motor..

      Ski would not run but 35 mph tac 5350 i took it to dealer hooked up buds no codes in it .Cleaned rave vales tried new fuel pump,injectors,exhaust he could never figure out what was wrong with it. He keep telling me the ski ran to good up to 35 I know this mech was frustrated .finally he calls me after about 6wks tells me comp has water in it. Moter needs to be relaced.I run a trucking co i know a little about moters so i ask where's the water coming from ?he tells me block cracked around comp now the moters locking up.I say BS i think he blew it up.It has never run hot with me. In the shop i have never seen them hook water up while running a ski. Ski is still at dealership dont know what i should do here really.

        If he means the crank case with block, hmmmm that is not cooled in that area, the compressors head has the cooling sytem to it and is a romovable part with just 3 bolts.

        After a ski has been sunk, there can be water in the air feeding hose coming from your throttle bodies.

        Anyway, take the compressor head off, remove fuel line, two water lines, and the air in line.
        Clean all lines, inspect the head, gasket etc, make sure that the cooling lines are not glogged on any side.

        What fuel pressure are you getting?

        The same way you check your fuel pressure BUT now with the fuel pump disconnected checks your compressor, see a shop manual for the specs.

        Yes make sure that the compressor is bone dry or your ski will run like you are saying.
        However as far as I understand your engine is toasted at the dealer.
