  • 650 seadoo premix

I'm only starting this thread because I cant get the SBT video to work on this topic. This is what I think I should do to convert, correct me if I'm wrong.
    1. Remove oil pump and gear.
    2. Install block off plate.
    3. Remove oil tank and hoses.
    4. block off the fitting under the exhaust pipe (aka return line fitting)
Am I missing some steps? Thanks

    A couple..
    1) Correct
    2) Correct
    3) Partially correct. remove the oil tank and the OIL PUMP hose.
    4) WRONG (see #6)

    What you left out:
    5) Plug off the small brass oil injection nipples on the intake
    6) Connect the two rotary bath oil lines together, to allow continued and proper lubrication of your rotary gear. (make sure both lines are full of oil)
    7) Zip tie the oil sender float in the UP position and tuck it away in the hull somewhere (or, just short the two wires together and ditch the sender all together). This eliminates the LOW OIL light.
    8) Premix fuel at 40:1

Can you tell me a little more about the rotary gear lines, I'm not totally clear on what to do here? I got the little brass intake tubes blocked off, and the sending unit taken care of. Thanks, Shane

I understand now, You are saying that I need to connect a line looping the two fittings together for the oil bath. The article says to keep the oil tank and just let them gravity feed, but I would rather take the oil tank out all together to reduce the weight and make things simple in there. This line that I am going to make, does it have to hold any certain amount of oil to work properly? I am assuming that I need to keep an eye on it to make sure it never runs low by using a clear line right?

correct, clear line. Usually, you just connect the two lines that are alreay there. Just disconnect them from the oil tank and go get a barbed fitting and join the two together. Make sure you tie the line up high, so any air is in the line, and not in the bath system.

              Re: 650 seadoo premix

Thanks, I am learning so much about this engine. I just recieved all of the parts that you told me to get. I got the head on ebay $20.00, I got all of the jets from parker yamaha and I removed the oil talk and finished the block off and oil loop. I will take this ski out soon and take some pics so you can see how much your advice has payed off. Thanks again, Shane
