  • Aftermarket intake question

    Hello

I'm presently adding a new head on my XP787 to raise compression.

Also the other modification is I'm planning to buy an aftermarket intake for my XP787, my question is, does the aftermarket intake will realy change something , cause i still got the stock carb for now.

I mean does it worth it. may be you got one, i would appreciate your advise since you put it on ski

    Thank you

    Re: Aftermarket intake question

depends on the intake. You should add flame arrestors, re-jet the carbs and buy a Solas XO prop...

That will give you the best bang for the buck.

Also remember, most, if not all A/M intakes will force you to go premix.

      Re: Aftermarket intake question

On a 787 you do not need a new intake unless you get aftermarket carbs. If you get spigot mounts get a r/d direct flow. Beware with the r/d that over the years the casting has shifted and you will need to line things up with the case to be perfect.

If you get flange mount, I think you are just as good hogging out the stock manifold to match your carb......
