The SBT Tech department recommends that when flushing and rinsing down your engine after a ride, it is good practice to remove all extra water from inside the hull. This will prevent moisture from entering into the crankcase of your motor and rusting your crankshaft and cylinders. Leaving the seat cracked open a small amount will also allow air to cuirculate into the engine conpartment, preventing moisture buildup and keep things dry.
