  • overheating 97 Wave Venture 1100

Another newbe here, first time post. I just replaced my daughter's 97 Wave Venture 1100 with a 09 VG Deluxe but I need to get the old Wave venture up to par so I can sell it. Ski has a SBT engine that was installed last August. Daughter rode it in shallow water and I had to have it cleaned out and new gaskets installed. Problem is, now engine bogs down when it gets up to temperature and starts right back up when it cools off. I have been told it could be several things and my so called mechanic has not been much help. The thing that makes the most sense to me is to replace the overheat sensor rather than the cdi box. Where do I find the sensor and can someone who can handle tools and read diagrams do this repair.

Don't automatically assume it's the sensor. The motor may actually be overheating. You should test the sensor before proceeding.
