polaris 2001 txi starter spin

I have 2 2001 polaris virage txi I bought several months ago with about 50 hours. Just getting around to using them this weekend. Both hve new batteries. One starts fine after all the sitting. The other just spins the starter without engaging. I tried several batteries and even a jumper box for a few seconds; same problem. I hear the starter spinning free but it does not engage. Any suggestions? Thank, Don

Sounds like the bendix drive is the issue not the starter. You will have to remove the flywheel to get to the bendix and replace it.
