  • 650sl impeller shaft

Hello, I am assuming it's the impeller shaft. (It may be the drive shaft) I recently purchased a 93 650SL and am attempting to remove the block to get the crankshaft out, but cannot get the impeller shaft out of the engine to get it out of the hull. I followed the steps on your website, I have heated the shaft, and have turned it in any possible direction without any luck. Do I need a tool or am I just missing something? There really is no illustration on your engine removal guide that I downloaded.

    Your advice is appreciated, Frats07

If you can't remove it by pulling it back from the engine then lock one of the pistons so the engine can't rotate and use a pipe wrench to un-screw the coupler from the engine. Looking at the back of the engine it removes by turning counter clock wise.

How would you suggest I lock the piston. I attempted it to no avail. (actually I broke the piston) I was going to replace them anyways.
      Thanks
