  • '02 Polaris Genesis 1 DI 1200 oil pump

I bought this ski with a bad crank and just got it all back together. The thing fired right up. My question is, how do you know if the oil pump is working correctly? After running the thing for about 10 seconds I pulled a line to one of the intakes and there was no oil in it.I pulled the line right at the pump, oil comes to the top of the nipple and seams to stop.I realize the oil is a slow feed but how long is the engine suppose to run before the lines fill and the engine starts getting oil? Do these lines need to be prefilled(the plastic coupler is on the flywheel nut and engaging the oil pump) Any help will be appreciated.

The oil pump needs to be bleed if the lines are disconnected. Crack open the chrome bolt on the pump and hold the lever in the wide open position for 10 seconds then snug up the screw and let the lever spring back.
